Summer Camp 2026

Summer Camp starts June 22. Every week is self contained with a Friday showcase. Most campers join us for 2-4 weeks. A few move in for the summer (we don’t have housing 😆). $500/Week, $1500/any five weeks or just $3000 unlimited access for a full year.

WHY IMPROV COMEDY?

While we tout numerous benefits playing improv games. Our #1 rule and focus is to have fun!

  • Walter’s #1 Rule: HAVE FUN but never at another’s expense!
  • #1 Rule in Improv: YES AND… Always say yes, then follow up with words and actions that support your team and previous offers.
  • #1 Skill in Comedy: LISTENING!!! Listening with your eyes! Listening with the willingness to change!

Everything in Improv is a game, from the ice breaking warm-up to the games you see in our professional shows and TV shows like WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY.

Improv is a must for any artist. Improvisation is a ket component to all the arts. We use improv to move from script to performance every day as actors.

But EVERYONE should do improv. We use the same games from classes to train corporate team building, leadership, sales and customer service skills at fortune 500 companies. (Check out our parent company New York Improv Theater). Simply playing these games develops self-confidence, public speaking, listening, focus, creativity, critical thinking and more.

  • IMPROV is Cultural Arts – Music, Theater, Dance, Spoken Word etc
  • IMPROV is Language Arts – Story telling, Creative Writing, etc
  • IMPROV is Community & Leadership
  • Improv is SEL Social Emotional Learning

Did you know summer camp is now run day to day by former campers. We have colleagues now working in our professional company that were once summer camp and comedy class students. Some are home from college – USC. Emerson, Carnegie Melon, etc. A few have graduated and work with us year round, performing improv comedy and murder mystery shows for schools and corporate events.

SUMMER CAMP 2026

Every week of comedy camp is like an 8 week class session and so much more!

Every Monday starts with a check in to meet new campers and welcome back the regulars. We start every morning warming up for a day of fun.

Monday thru Thursday morning is Improv time. A two hour masterclass on how to play comedy games. After lunch break is Stand Up Comedy time. Students get 3-5 minutes to share their ideas. A few present sketch comedy scripts to develop.

Friday is Showcase day. The morning is dedicated to a mock run of the show. At 2pm, parents are invited to see the week’s work. Bring friends and family. Our shows are not class showcases. Folks don’t leave our shows saying, not bad for kids. Our parents leave thinking, I didn’t know my kids could do that.
