Improv 4 Kids has been touring NYC Schools and nationwide since 2003. Treat your students to much needed laughter and valuable life skills training with our school assemblies, workshops, residencies / after school and professional development programming.
I’ve had Walt and his team come in and work with my students for over five years now. We have both visited the NYC space and held sessions and assemblies in our building. Year after year, the students love exploring improv, and they really enjoy the culminating shows, following the individual class sessions. This program is not only affordable, it’s beneficial for all students. It helps them come out of their shells and also gives them an opportunity to explore skills out of their rigorous class schedules. Looking forward to having them back in the coming school year!
Dyker Heights, Brooklyn School
Since before 2020 Dyker Height, is 201 has had Improv 4 Kids / Teens in for a week of shows and workshops. Now many schools are discovering the power of improvisation, using our programs to help inspire, or in some cases outright teach public speaking, community, creativity etc.
Our programs pair well with literacy, SEL, musicians, theater, language arts and more.
Every show features professional artists creating original skits and songs improvised on the spot based upon audience suggestions and participation. We have shows for every grade, any age.
Every workshop gets the students playing story telling games, ice breakers that develop listening and focus and more. Every residency and after school program expands to performance games, teaching creative writing and critical thinking as we build towards a performance showcase. Workshops are recommended for grades 3 & up but we currently have programs for 5yos as well (more music, dance and movement centric).
Professional Development programming combines our educational outreach reach and corporate team building curriculum to give teachers tools and motivation to be their best selves.
